Pictures us giving rides in our UH-18SP on the IL River

On May 24th I had a few friends and one of my past teachers out to the river so they could get a ride in the 18sp and see that I'm not really "that" crazy and that we do have a hovercraft, and it even works LOL. We were down at Mendenhal boat ramp again.

Here is the boat ramp, the water is a lot higher than it was last time we were here in september, There used to be a beach next to the ramp.

A closer look at the ramp.

There was a nice transition next to the ramp so I would come in here and go back out on the ramp.

I look at the river, towards Pekin.

Here is the 18sp getting ready to go out. You can also see our canopy that we just finished to use this weekend.

Here I am cruising down the river with one of my teachers and a friend. This is when I hit a new speed record, before I got up to 44.4 MPH and this time I got up to 45.1 MPH. That was at about 1700 RPM I couldn't run the engine any faster than that or the thrust belts would start slipping, so we'll have to fix that. The speed was still climbing but I figured that I better slow down before I hit the lock and dam ahead of me :)

Here we are coming back in.

And coming in for a landing.
